Rep. Coffman on Ethiopian Resolution (H.Res 128)

Author: Bonnie Holcomb

Representative Mike Coffman (R-CO) spoke on the floor of the US Congress today calling for a floor vote on House Resolution 128 on Ethiopia.

Bravo. Coffman is clearly one of the good guys.
The resolution needs to be put on the calendar and voted.
It has 71 co-sponsors, strongly bi-parisan.
It passed the House Foreign Affairs Committee unanimously on July 27, 2017.
It was scheduled to be voted on the floor of the House on October 2.
Ethiopian government diplomats and their paid lobbyists got it pulled off the schedule for 30 days by threatening to withdraw from US-Ethiopian counter-terrorism operations. A bullying tactic and a bluff. It worked, however.
The 30 days is up.
Please notify your Congresspeople to ask that H Res be put on the schedule for a vote!
The resolution calls for on “supporting respect for human rights and encouraging inclusive governance in Ethiopia.”
